The Investigation Hub at Sidney Grove

Week of 13th July 2026

It has been such a special week in the Investigation Hub! Our younger children have continued visiting the wider nursery environment to help their transition across to the wider space in September. Some of the older children had their last transition visits to school and as a staff team we worked with all of the children to ensure their emotional needs were met across a busy and significant week!

Following the children’s enthusiasm and engagement with the rainbow rice during our Summer Stay and Play session, Susan supported them in dyeing some pasta to use for a threading activity. The children carefully threaded the colourful pasta onto pipe cleaners to create bracelets for a friend or family member.

It was delightful to hear the children talking about who they wanted to make their bracelet for, showing kindness and thoughtfulness towards those who are special to them.

On Thursday our school leavers shared a very special picnic together in the garden! We had some iced lollies and a very special cake followed with some water games (poor Susan was splashed quite a lot!)

Thank you for giving us the privilege of taking care of your children this year! We have loved seeing them grow! Their independence and thinking skills are incredible and we know they are so ready for their next steps in education. We hope that Bensham Grove Nursery is always a special place for them (and for you!) and that they know they always belong here! We cannot wait to welcome back our Returners in September, to find out about your summer adventures and to have another fantastic year in the Investigation Hub.

Thank you so much for all of your kindness over the past 2 years. I have loved meeting you all and being part of such a special community! I will miss the children so much and wish them all the best for their new adventures! Natalia 😊
