The Nest
What a lovely week it has been in the nest, with all of our children having gained confidence and feeling secure within the environment. The children have enjoyed “5 Little Ducks” and have exploring activities based around this.
Communication and Language
The children sat with me and eagerly joined in with the actions to “5 little ducks”. The children in the nest enjoy being in the company of others, especially when there is a sing song about to happen. Their engagement was amazing, as they were content and completely focused in following along of the song.
Physical Development
The children have had a lovely time exploring the water with ducks and nets, showing good control in scooping up the ducks. The children were holding the net with their whole hand grasp trying to scoop up the ducks. The children explored the water further by splashing their hands in creating some large splashing movements. They showered their enjoyment with lots of smiling and babble sounds.
The children engaged with play dough, natural objects and wooden tools, further developing their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. They explored the texture through fine motor movements, mouthing and observing it. There was lots of concentration coming from the children as they were fully focused and engaged in what they were doing. I was showing the children how I was patting the play dough with my hand and they copied this action.
Baby Yoga
We were very kindly visited by Hayley from Kalma baby yoga again on Tuesday afternoon. She conducted a session with the children using Pom-poms, parachute games and bubbles. The children had lots of fun!
Hayley will be coming out every Tuesday afternoon until the end of term
