The Nest and Den:
We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and a well deserved rest. This week, we welcomed new babies to the nest who have adapted remarkably well to their new environment.
Characteristics of Effective Learning
The children were curious by the coloured shredded paper, intently examining it. The children used their hands to scrunch the paper, feeling its texture. Hidden within, the children discovered several eggs. They then opened and closed the egg, demonstrating good control for a sustained period. The children were letting the paper drop from a height watching its decent.
Communication and Language
There has been lots of new language coming from the children with repeating words and creating new babble sounds.
Physical Development
The children have experimented with metal and wooden objects in rice to develop their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. They demonstrated good hand control when scooping the rice with the spoon and pouring it back into the bowl. The children were using their hands to move the rice around the tray feeling the texture. There was some lovely interactions observed between the children with lots of smiles and engagement.
Parent Partnerships
We reopen on Monday 20th April 2026.
With the warm weather fast approaching, can we please ask for a un opened suncream (factor 50) and a named sun hat to be provided to stay at nursery
