The Discovery and Investigation hub :
We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and a well deserved rest.
Characteristics of Effective Learning
The children were still super excited about Easter and enjoyed telling us all about the Easter bunny and their chocolates eggs! We have extended this further as the children explore the junk modelling area creating their own bunny’s and eggs. Following on from this, the children have explored decorating their own biscuits, developing their fine motor skills by spreading the icing on using a spoon and picking up sprinkles to place on top.
As the weather has became warmer, the children enjoyed making ice lollies. The children enjoyed picking from a range of summer fruits; strawberries, raspberries, lemon, limes and satsumas. Then mixed them together through mashing and squeezing out the juices, before pouring into individual moulds. Everyone enjoyed trying these at snack time, once been in the freezer and found them cool and refreshing.
We have welcomed children on visit during the week, who will be joining us after the holidays and all been doing really well.
Physical development:
The children have enjoyed using a range of gross motor skills whilst out in the garden area, using the balance bikes, balance beams, slide, trampoline and playing a range of games such as hide and seek, ring a ring a roses and Easter egg hunts.
The children have been using the large boxes to build and develop their imagination skills of making robots, vehicles and acting these out.
Parent Partnerships
We reopen on Monday 20th April 2026.
With the warm weather fast approaching, can we please ask for an un opened suncream (factor 50) and a named sun hat to be provided to stay at nursery.
We would love to see how our children are enjoying and been celebrating the holidays with their families. You can send in any pictures through the observation section and we would enjoy sharing them on their return.
Emma, Dianne, Sakar, Sharon is on annual leave next week.
