Welcome to Bensham Grove Nursery School

I am delighted to welcome you to our website here at Bensham Grove Community Nursery School. I hope our website enables you to share some of our exciting and special times and answer some of the questions you may have.

We are proud to be the only Gateshead Local Authority maintained Nursery School providing 15 hours funded education for 3-4 year olds.

We were delighted to be judged outstanding in all areas in our recent school Ofsted inspection – November 2013. As a school we are staffed with a Headteacher, qualified teachers and teaching assistants with many years experiences. Ofsted graded all teaching as outstanding and found that “staff work very successfully as a team to provide exceptional learning”, “the achievement of all children is outstanding” and “children make rapid progress in all areas of learning.”

Mrs Denise Kilner (Head teacher)

Education is not about filling a bucket but lighting a fire.

Bensham Grove is a happy friendly place. My daughter has been given the best start to school and an excellent education thanks to the positive encouragement and commitment of all staff.

Parent (2017)

I can not praise the Nursery high enough. My child could not have had a better start in life.

Parent (2017)

We are especially happy with the way our child was helped to settle in so quickly and the progress he has made both socially and academically since.

Parent (2017)

We have always felt very reassured that our son has been in safe hands and in an environment that has encouraged him to develop in a positive way.
