The Den:
Physical development:
The children were joined by Faye on Monday as she conducted another baby yoga session. This week, she introduced the parachute which the children really enjoyed. Some of the older children were able to hold onto the side and move it up and down. The youngest children enjoyed sitting and observing the parachute move! This was great to help cool the children down on a very hot day!
The children have loved exploring the shredded paper this week too! They used good fine motor skills to pick up handfuls and transfer them into the metal bowls. We then added some animals to the paper which he hid. The children enjoyed rummaging through the paper to find them.
The boxes have been a hit this week! The children showed good gross motor movements as they selected boxes and worked independently to make large towers. They really enjoyed the schema of pushing the, over too- speaking “uh-oh!”
Communication and language:
The children enjoyed singing “swishy swashy… who’s hiding under there!” using the material this week! They showed such enjoyment when the material was pulled from their face. We then spoke about moving it in different directions like up, down and side-to-side. The children enjoyed copying this and some of the older ones were able to follow along.
Staffing updates:
Anna and Sarah are on paediatric first aid training on Tuesday and Wednesday so won’t be in nursery.
Parents as partners:
We are missing a dark blue jacket with a caterpillar on it. If it has been taken by mistake can it be returned to nursery.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
