The Den:
Another busy week in the den as we follow children’s interest vehicles! We have also been spending lots of time in the garden this week as we enjoy the gorgeous weather.
Characteristics of effective learning
After looking at trains last week, we have been extending the children’s interests by exploring other vehicles this week.
We have been getting messy as we paint with cars, aeroplanes and trains! The children had lots of fun rolling their vehicles in the paint then onto the paper. This was a great opportunity to talk about different vehicles like “aeroplanes go up in the sky” and “trains go choo-choo on the track. We head some lovely language from the children.
With spring in the air, we have been looking at spring animals like ducks and rabbits. This was great to link into singing time as we sing ‘sleeping bunnies’ and ‘3 little ducks’. The children have been joining in with words and actions to the songs which has been lovely to witness.
Physical development:
With the weather warming, we have been making the most of the lovely weather by accessing the garden as much as possible. The children have been painting with water and brushes. The children loved this- they stood for some time, very engaged during this activity. Some of the older children were showcasing some amazing sharing skills as they shared brushes with each other.
We have enjoyed picnics in the garden this week as we have snack outside, the children really enjoyed this and sat so well for their snack.
