The Nest

This half term has gone over really quickly. We are incredibly proud of the remarkable progress all the children have made. We have observed some amazing developmental milestones, from their first tentative steps to confident crawling, and the learning of new words that brighten our days. Their enthusiasm for learning new skills is truly inspiring.

We have welcomed more new children who have joined us this week in the Nest. And we are still welcoming more children on transition visits ready to start in after Easter.

Characteristics of Effective Learning

The children have experimented with the musical instruments, by banging them together in creating different sounds and noises. There was lots of engagement and lovely interactions coming from the children.

Communication and Language

During small group time, the children thoroughly enjoyed exploring a variety of interactive books, including pop-up and flip-flap designs. Their intense focus and engagement were evident as they observed the pictures and followed along with the stories.

Physical Development

The children have had a lovely time in exploring the flower sensory tray with wooden spoons and bowls. They have demonstrated good hand control in scooping the flowers and placing them into the bowl. This supported the children’s hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. They used a pincer grip to pick up the flowers whilst observing them intently.

Parent Partnerships

Our last day before half term is Thursday 2nd April 2026 for term time only children and we reopen on Monday 20th April 2026. We will remain open throughout the holidays for children attending all year round, but we will be closed to all for bank holidays on Friday 03/04/26 and Monday 06/04/26

Spring stay and play

We want to say a big thank you to our lovely parents & Grandparents who attended our Spring Stay and Play. The children enjoyed their family members being apart of their morning, participating in a range of sensory based activities and seeing what they get up to whilst being at nursery.

Staffing Update

Kelly is on Annual Leave next week and will be back on 13th April
