The Nest
Characteristics of affective Learning
The children explored the sand using their hands and paint brushes to create different marks, they let the sand sprinkle down between their fingers, as they felt the texture. The children created various babble sounds, as they interacted with each other. The children used their whole hand grasp as they moved the paint brush around the sand. The children spent some time exploring the sand as they were fully engaged in what they were doing.
Active Learning.
The children enjoyed stacking and balancing the soft blocks repeatedly as they followed simple instructions. The children had joy in their faces when stacking the blocks on top of each other, knocking them down with excitement. The children showed lovely interactions towards each other, as there was lots of laughter and enjoyment coming from the children.
Physical Development
The children have enjoyed being in the garden exploring the bikes and balancing beams, further developing their gross motor skills.
The children were eager to explore the foam, as they were curious to investigate. The children used their hands to squeeze the foam to feel the texture. The children used their whole hand grasp moving the textured sponge around the foam. It was so lovely to see how the children were engaged throughout this experience. There was lots of lovely interactions and enjoyment between the children.
Parent as partners
Please find a copy of instructions to add an observation of your child to Famly (usually a photograph and a little description of what is happening)
This could be used to share some home experiences, developmental milestones or special moments with us at Nursery. If you would like to, you could also share a family photograph this way, so that we can print them off and display them in the Nursery.
Please feel free to ask a member of staff to support with this
