The Nest

We have been focussing on developing our fine motor skills and hand eye coordination through activities that support this.

Communication and Language

The children have had a lovely time in exploring the voil fabrics in different ways. We swayed them around singing “swishy swishy” as they moved through the air. The children were placing the fabrics over their heads and waiting for a response in me singing “where or where or where is…… where could……….be”. They loved the anticipation of whose name was going to be called next

Our group sessions are truly delightful. The children displayed remarkable focus, engrossed in stories from various books. It was particularly lovely to observe some children sitting attentively, thoroughly enjoying the pictures, while happily babbling and making a range of sounds.

Physical Development

The children explored chalk, water and paint brushes, creating some lovely . The children used a whole hand grasp to move the chalk around the tray. They were fascinated by the water and paint brushes, observing them intently. The children demonstrating good hand control, moving the paint brush in and out of the pot, developing their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. The children spent a considerable amount of time creating various marks, as they were fully engaged in what they were doing.

Baby Yoga

We were very kindly visited by Hayley from Kalma baby yoga again on Tuesday afternoon. She conducted a session with the children using Pom-poms, parachute games and bubbles. The children had lots of fun!

Parents as partners

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the parents who attended our recent Stay and Play session. It was truly wonderful to see the children enjoying your company. They were visibly happy and deeply engaged with the activities and resources provided for everyone to explore and investigate.

The last day of term for term time only children is Friday 17th July. We re-open to all children on Wednesday 2nd September, as Monday is a bank holiday and we have a staff training day Tuesday 1st September.
