The Nest
We have had some new children start in the Nest this week. It has been lovely to to see them build lovely relationships with key staff in the room and become secure in the nursery environment.
Characteristics of affective Learning:
The children have experimented with a range of sensory based activities ranging from play dough with natural resources and mark making in flour with brushes.
Communication and Language
The children have built up lovely relationships with each other, as there has been lots of laughter and enjoyment. The children have continued to enjoy wheels on the bus joining in with the actions. The children joined in by clapping their hands demonstrating their enjoyment.
Physical Development
The children have been further developing their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. The children picked up the brush using their whole hand grasp moving it around the flour using various strokes to create different marks. The children spent some time exploring this activity, as they were fully engaged in what they were doing.
The children enjoyed exploring the play dough, they experimented with different tools moving them in and out of the play dough.
