The Nest

Our focus song has been “Five little Ducks” and we have enjoyed listening to the song. You could see the anticipation in the children’s faces, as the number of ducks were going down. The children were engaged and participated in with the actions to the song.

Characteristics of Effective Learning

The children have enjoyed exploring the duck sensory tray using their hands to feel the texture of tissue paper and tin foil. There was lots of enjoyment coming from the children with lots of laughter and engagement.

Communication and Language

The children have had a lovely time singing and listening to the nursery rhyme “Five little Ducks” with puppets, props and books. The children were focussed in listening to the book about a duck, as they were pointing at the different pictures. There was lots of new language introduced to the children and they were imitating what was being said.

We are going to introduce Christmas songs to the children next week

Stay and Play

We want to say great big thank you to our families who came to the stay and play today. It was lovely to meet our new families who are joining The Nest in January.
