The Nest

It has been exceptionally warm in the rooms this week. We commend the children for their resilience and positive adaptation to the conditions. To help keep them cool and comfortable, we have provided numerous water play experiences throughout the week.

Communication and Language

The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the “insy winsy tuff tray” filled with spiders and dried oats. Upon approaching the trays, the children pointed at the spiders. They then picked up handfuls of oats, observing intently as they sprinkled back into the tray. When asked, “Where did the spiders go?” The children brushed the oats away with their hands, revealing the spider, and pointed to them.

Physical Development

We provided a box with holes in and the children eagerly pushed the pom poms and fabric flowers through the holes further developing their fine motor skills. The children were so engaged throughout this activity, as they were fully focussed in what they were doing. Some children noticed the flowers came apart. I asked “can you put it back together?” They responded by nodding their heads. The children demonstrated good hand eye coordination as they put the flowers back together.

We have been outside in the garden enjoying the shade of the big trees. The children explored all areas of the garden knowing that they feel the cool air breeze. The children showed some lovely interactions towards each other with lots of engagement and focus.

Baby Yoga

We were very kindly visited by Hayley from Kalma baby yoga again on Tuesday afternoon. She conducted a session with the children using Pom-poms, parachute games and bubbles. The children had lots of fun!

Hayley will be coming out every Tuesday afternoon until the end of term

Staffing Update

Parents as partners

On Thursday 2nd July we will have our Summer term stay and play sessions. The theme this term will be “Belonging”. The nest timing will be 9:30-10:30

To ensure safety of the children, we ask that all parents/carers close the gate when entering and exiting the premises.

Just a reminder that we are closed on Friday 26th June 2026 for a staff training day.
