The Nest
Playing and Exploring/Active Learning
The children have been learning about transport vehicles and how they go. The children have experimented in using different surfaces in moving the cars, showing an understanding how the cars can move.
The children have explored a transport jigsaw, using their fine motor skills in handling the pieces, rotating the pieces to fit into their space. This developed the children’s hand eye coordination, as they are connecting what they see with their actions. The older children were problem solving of which piece went where and were beginning to understand how pieces fit together.
Communication and Language
They children have engaged in looking at different interactive books that have flaps, touch and feel pictures. The children learned some new words, such as; train, choo choo, boat, water, balloon.. The children immitated some of the words and indetify certain words alongside with the objects.
Physical Development
The children enjoyed painting with cars, creating some lovely track marks. The children showed good control in moving the cars around the paper, further developing their hand eye coordination. The children spent a considerable amount of time exploring the paint creating marks, as they were focused on what they were doing.
