Investigation Hub
We have had another busy and exciting week in nursery! It has been wonderful to see how well the children are continuing to settle into our new routines and environment. We have also welcomed some new children this week, and we are very proud to see everyone settling in so well, building confidence and enjoying engaging in play.
Characteristics of effective learning
This week, we have continued to build positive relationships within our key worker groups, as well as across the wider nursery. The children have been developing friendships, getting to know familiar adults, and are becoming increasingly confident in their surroundings.
We have also been enjoying our familiar routines during welcome time, including singing songs, self-registration and early counting activities. These experiences help the children to develop their communication, confidence and early mathematical skills, while providing a lovely, predictable start to the day.
Learning Outdoors
Some of our children have particularly enjoyed spending time in the garden this week, harvesting the fruit and vegetables that we planted earlier in the year.
The children have loved discovering what has grown and have had opportunities to taste some of our produce, including tomatoes and raspberries. We have also been checking on our potatoes, and they will hopefully be ready to harvest soon!
These experiences have provided lots of opportunities for the children to explore where food comes from, talk about healthy eating and develop their understanding of how plants grow. They have also enjoyed getting hands-on with nature and taking pride in caring for our garden.
It has been lovely to see the children learning, exploring and having fun together!
Parents as Partners
Please continue to check Famly regularly, as this is where we share key information, details of upcoming events and observations of your child’s learning and development.
We would also like to remind you to clearly label your child’s coat and belongings with their name and, for the safety of all children, that jewellery should not be worn at nursery.
We really value working in partnership with our families to ensure every child is happy, settled and thriving at nursery. If you have any questions, concerns or anything you would like to share, a member of staff will always be happy to have a chat with you.
Have a wonderful weekend,
The Nursery Team
