The Nest/ Den:
It’s been lovely to have The Nest children join us this week. We have been exploring a range of autumnal themed activities like scooping lentils and making play-dough!
On Monday, we went for a walk in our new quadruple buggy around the big garden, the children loved this new experience and we talked about all the new things we could see. We then explored the blossom garden and the children loved playing with the new large scale equipment- like the peek-a-boo tower.
We have been exploring the colour orange this week as we follow on from our pumpkin exploration last week. The children enjoyed the lentil fine motor activity with little scoops and cups. This is a great activity to focus on developing key skills like concentration and hand-eye coordination. It’s also amazing for little ones as they are working hard to grasp the small spoons- refining those fine motor skills!
We have also made orange, cinnamon scented play-dough. The older children listened carefully and followed instructions to make the dough. The youngest children across the week have been playing with the dough, using a range of rollers and cutters.
Below I have attached the play-dough recipe incase you wanted to make it at home with your child. It works better with 2 cups of boiling water instead of microwaving it.
