Investigation Hub and Discovery Hub at Deckham
We have had a lovely final week of the term!
We have enjoyed stories and songs about spring and Easter. We noticed the weather is definitely feeling spring-like this week, while we were enjoying outdoor play. The children have enjoyed using large boxes creatively this week, as boats, trains and places to hide outdoors. In our physical space, the children have enjoyed using the balance beams, climbing triangle and tunnel, as they completed an obstacle course.
It was wonderful to have so many families join us for our stay and play sessions on Wednesday. We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming you into nursery to enjoy exploring different areas and activities with your children.
The children made some lovely creations together with their family and friends, including threading pasta and felt flowers to make garlands, decorating rabbit ear headbands and demonstrating their super mark-making skills to create Easter cards.
The children enjoyed sensory activities such as water play (where they scooped eggs from the water), and exploring coloured rice (where they filled and emptied containers and experienced the feeling of the rice through their hands). As they engaged in this play, they were developing their hand-eye coordination and their understanding of capacity and measure through first hand experiences.
We hope you enjoyed the session. Thank you for the kind feedback that was shared.
