The Den:

Our last week before we break up for Christmas! What a busy term we have had- with lots of learning focuses around autumn and Christmas. We have lots of children transitioning to The Discovery Hub after the break, just wanted to wish them the best of luck in their new venture. 

Characteristics of effective learning

On Tuesday, the children had their Christmas party. We had lots of fun dancing, singing and opening some presents as our focused activity. We were also very kindly visited by Santa who dropped off some special presents for the children.

We created a posting activity using Pom-poms and a cardboard box. We decorated it to look like a Christmas tree and the children had lots of fun posting the pom-poms into the holes.

Parents as partners:

Nursery will re-open on Tuesday 6th of January.

You can upload ‘parent observations’ of your child to share special experiences with nursery. Please feel free to share photos of what your child gets up to throughout the Christmas break. I’ll upload a step-by-step guild on how to do this.

Transitioning children:

If your child is transitioning to The Discovery Hub after Christmas, feel free to drop them off in The Den and they can spend some time familiarising themselves with staff/ environment. Staff can then take them over to The Discovery Hub once happy and secure.
