The Investigation Hub at Sidney Grove

Wow- what a privilege it has been to welcome the children back after the summer break (whether it was spent at Nursery or elsewhere) and to welcome our new starters who have joined Bensham Grove this week. The children have amazed us at how quickly they are adapting to our new routines, and how well they are managing! We have spent this week getting to know our key workers in each group and working together as a group to explore the learning environment both inside and outside. We know that settling in and building relationships with staff and peers is so important and that will continue to be our main focus over the next few weeks. We want the children to feel safe and secure at Nursery and we look forward to building strong relationships with yourselves and the children to embed their future learning.

In the Investigation Hub we now have our ‘Rising 3’ section supported by Hannah, Danielle and Lauren.

The remaining children will have key workers; Susan, Ellie, Natalia, Melanie and Amy.

We are also fortunate to have the wider support team of; Steven, Sam, Sophie, Sara, Emily and Gwen.

Thank you for supporting us this week by not ringing the doorbell at the end of the sessions. We ask this to minimise disruption for the children who might be enjoying a cosy story at this time. We will always open the door at the end of the nursery school sessions – at 12pm, 3pm or 3.45pm (depending on your child’s attendance pattern) Please let us know if you need to collect your child at any other time (This excludes children in wraparound care).

We would love to add some photos of your child’s family into our Nursery environment, to help the children feel settled and to have a sense of belonging at Nursery. If possible, could you send a photo of your family to your child’s key worker on Famly, to be printed and displayed in Nursery.

We will share our weekly planned activities with you here on Famly on Mondays and a weekly learning update every Friday. Please feel free to share any experiences your child has outside of Nursery by uploading an observation onto Famly. We love to share these in group times!
