Next week we will be continuing our focus on the way we all ‘Belong’ at Bensham Grove Nursery School in support of Refugee Week 2026.

The official theme of the week is ‘Courage’ and we will be exploring this with the children by explaining that kindness is courage. Being kind to others is an important value of our Nursery School and next week children will explore this theme even further as they share new stories together.

Children in our Investigation Hub have a very exciting visitor on Monday when Laura Henry Allain, the creator of ‘Jo Jo and Gran Gran’ from CBeebies will be joining us to share a story.

On Tuesday our children in the Discovery Hub will have the opportunity to work with the Glasshouse to make music together and children throughout the centre will also have the opportunity to join in some yoga.

Thank you to all parents who have completed and returned their ‘Belong at Bensham ‘ posters. They are such a lovely way to celebrate our wonderful children and families.

We would also love it if you would share any music you love to listen to at home with us so we can create some playlists representing the music of home for all our children. You could share artists and song titles via Famly with your child’s key person.

If you have any special items or objects that are important to you as a family that your child might like to bring in to share and talk about with their key person they would love to see them. You could even send a photograph and children could share with their key person and friends digitally.

Many Thanks,

The Nursery Team
