This afternoon some of our oldest and bravest Investigators dared to join Jill on an adventure to explore a spooky, scary house!
They showed great confidence and curiosity as they knocked on the door and followed the witch inside! The witch kindly allowed the children to explore before leading them into the library for a story. Afterwards she allowed them to play in her magic garden!
The children delighted in spotting rats, spiders, skeletons and ghosts and were far braver than Susan who was very jittery! Rob and Ellie also enjoyed their visit. It’s not every day a witch invites you in for a story!
We are so grateful to Bensham Grove Community Centre for this lovely experience. The connection between the Spence Watson family who once owned the house that is now Bensham Grove Community centre and our Nursery is a special one. When the family gifted their historic Arts and Crafts home to the public in 1919, they laid the foundation for it to become a pioneering “learning district” that ultimately gave birth to Tyneside’s very first nursery school – Bensham Grove Nursery School!
Such a lovely treat for us all!
