W/C- 3rd August 2026

The Discovery & Investigation hub

We have had yet another fun filled week, allowing the children’s interests to take over!

Playing and Exploring & Active Learning

Carrying on from last week, we have been on the hunt for more bugs and mini beasts in the garden but in particular baby ladybugs! The children are showing great understanding and curiosity of the life cycles of certain bugs and beast like the ladybugs and butterflies.

The Story of the week

Our story of the week this week is ‘The Colour Monster’ which we have all really enjoyed as we recognise both new and familiar emotions in small activities such as using pipette’s filled with coloured water to soak the facial expression with the matching colour. Furthermore, The children have created their very own colour monsters using a range of materials such as tissue paper and paint. These tasks have been able to support both the older and younger children using their fine motor skills as they are required to use hand-eye coordination, precision and work on their pincer grip.

Outdoor play

The children have continued to explore our outdoor environment by participating in using the balance beams to practice our physical development. As well as this, the children have been exploring the apparatus in the garden using a range of motions such as crawling through and hiding playing small games of peek-a-boo.

Staffing Updates

Karen is off all next week

Parent Partnership

Thank you for your continued support throughout the summer with the hot weather.

We ask that every child arrives at nursery with suncream already applied. If not, we do have nursery suncream available at the door that you will be able to apply at drop off. ☀️

Following on from this, just a gentle reminder for parents to avoid sending their child into nursery with toys from home. Unless they are a comfort item that they use during sleep times or to support your child’s wellbeing

If you have any Junk Modelling materials at home such as plastics milk cartons, cardboard, empty tissue or food boxes etc please feel free to bring them in!

Again we thank you for all of your support, we hope you all have a lovely weekend.😊
