The Nest/The Den
We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and a well deserved rest. These past 2 week, we have welcomed new babies to the nest who have adapted remarkably well to their new environment.
Characteristics of Effective Learning
The Den and Nest Children joined up for a few days this week. The children participated in a painting activity using flowers. We spoke to the children about different parts of flowers like the petals and stem. We then encouraged them to dip the flowers into the paint then onto the paper. The children loved this and were really curious about the texture of the flowers.
Communication and Language
The children enjoyed mark making with easy grip crayons. They used their whole hand grasp to hold the crayon and move it around the paper creating some lovely marks. Some children were holding the crayon and looking at them so intently.
Physical Development
With every opportunity of being outside, the children enjoy all aspects of the outdoor environment. They were focussed playing with the building blocks by stacking them and taking them apart. The children spent some time crawling and walking around exploring different areas.
Staffing Update
All staff have updated their Food Hygiene and Safety training this week.
We have also been looking at research around preterm birth.
Parents as partners:
We are looking forward to welcoming back all children on Monday 20th.
We would love to see what you’ve been getting up to over the Easter half term. If you would like to share some photos with staff you can do this via parent observation.
As previously stated, with the warm weather fast approaching, can we please ask for a un opened suncream (factor 50) and a named sun hat to be provided to stay at nursery
