Investigation Hub and Discovery Hub at Deckham

What an exciting and fun filled week we have had! Here is a round up of our week:

Monday

Some of our older Investigation Hub children had a wonderful visit to watch The Clumsiest Elf show at Bensham Grove Community Centre.

They were very excited to travel there by minibus, and they followed our safety instructions brilliantly. Some of the children enjoyed pointing out familiar places and even their own homes on the way there!

Everyone enjoyed the show. It was a very interactive performance and the children were able to join in with singing, dancing and actions.

They also sat and listened very well throughout the performance.

The children made us so proud with their excellent behaviour and everyone had a very fun time!

Tuesday

Lots of fun was had at our Christmas parties. The children enjoyed dancing, playing pass the parcel and having some delicious party food. We were even lucky enough to have an appearance from Father Christmas who stopped by to hand out some early Christmas presents!

Wednesday

The children were very excited to share the songs that they have been learning with the grown ups who were able to join us for our Christmas singalongs. The children have enjoyed practising these new festive songs recently. Jingle Bells has been a particular favourite of many of the children!

Thursday

The Investigation Hub children enjoyed another super Little Mover’s session on Thursday morning. They had lots of fun with ‘snowballs’ trying to balance them on cones to make snowmen and even having a ‘snowball fight’. Thank you to Donna who has delivered these fantastic sessions for us this term.

Friday

We are having a cosy day today, enjoying some festive animations, while wearing our pyjamas or Christmas clothing.

Parents as partners

Nursery closes after today (Friday 19th December) for the Christmas holidays and will reopen on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

Thank you to you all for your support this year. We truly appreciate the partnerships we have with parents and carers and that these enable us to best support your children in their learning and development.

It has been a pleasure to work with the children this term and we can’t wait to continue this play and learning next year.

We hope that you all have a wonderful holiday together. Merry Christmas to all our families who will be celebrating, and happy new year to all.
