2-3: The Discovery Hub

This week has been very busy with many Christmas events across the week. We have had a wonderful festive time with lots of dancing, singing and exploring.

We would like to thank all of the adults who came along to our Christmas singalongs and the Clumsy Elf show. On Monday, some of the children joined the Clumsy Elf show and I hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did. It was lovely to see the children so engaged observing the elf and having so much confidence to join her up at the front.

We had a wonderful party day on Tuesday as we had not one but two parties across the day. The children loved having a dance along to the music and we practised freezing when the music stopped. We explored with the scrunchie, following the adult’s instructions on how to move the scrunchie. The children enjoyed the party food during snack time as we had snack altogether. We were surprised by a special visit from Santa and he loved hearing the children singing their favourite Christmas songs. The children were very keen to say hello to Santa and were very excited to receive a present.

We were so proud of how well the children joined in during the Christmas Singalong this week. They have loved joining in singing various rhymes and Christmas songs over the last few weeks and it has been lovely to hear how it continues at home.

Parents as Partners

Nursery will be closed over the holidays and we will reopen on Tuesday 6th January.

We would love to see photos of the children during their time over the holidays. Please feel free to send parental observations (guidance attached) which we can share with the children when returning.

For the children transitioning to the Investigation Hub – Since we will be returning after a break, if you feel your child would benefit coming into the Discovery Hub first staff will help with the transition to the Investigation Hub during the first week to help settle back into routine.
