The Nest

Characteristics of affective Learning:

This week our children within The Nest have had another lovely week in building relationships with new friends. The children enjoyed  exploring together with different resources and experiences in different areas within the room. The children had a wonderful time as nursery staff introduced different rhymes and actions. The children joined in by clapping their hands and demonstrating their enjoyment. Our song of the week was “The Wheels on the bus.”  as we all enjoyed singing every day. It was wonderful to see the children imitating the actions within the song.

During this week we also had a lovely time exploring the different coloured autumn leaves. The staff engaged dropping leaves as the children observed the leaves falling . The children then followed the action by picking up and exploring handling the leaves, feeling the texture and looking at the leaves closely. It was lovely to see some of the children sharing during this interaction.

We encouraged the children to explore a sensory tray which contained crushed weetabix and acorns. The children used their hands to feel the texture and explored the activity using some toy animals to stamp over the weetabix and hear the sound ‘crunch’.

Physical Development:

Our children have enjoyed being out in the garden exploring different areas while also exploring the autumn leaves. The children enjoyed walking and balancing on the low beam with the support of an adult. The children had a lovely time playing with different animals on tuff tray and making different sounds of animals.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
