Characteristics of Effective Learning

The children had so much fun with the sensory activity in painting different shapes of pasta. The children demonstrated their happiness as they felt the texture of the pasta by feeling it with their hands. The children used their whole hand grasp in holding the paint brush moving it around the paper, showing good control of their hand eye coordination.

Communication and Language

The children have been expressing themselves through lots of babble sounds and new vocabulary. The children have been introduced to some new words such as; sponge, pasta, squeeze, roll, dab, jump.

Physical Development

The children have experimented with balls, water and nets to scoop the balls out from the water. The children showed good control in holding the net and further developing their hand eye coordination in retrieving the ball from the water. The younger children used their hands to splash in the water to feel the texture. The children demonstrated some lovely interactions towards each other, as there was lots of laughter and enjoyment. The children showed a good sense of will and determination in achieving what they set out to do showing a can do attitude.

The children have been physically active in the garden in exploring the stepping stones and bikes. The children showed good control in using their whole body to move across the stepping stones.
