Characteristics of Effective Learning

The children have been experimenting with coloured paper by ripping, tearing and throwing it in the air. The children were showing their enjoyment through laughing and smiling.

Communication and Language

The children have been exploring leaves with dinosaurs using their imagination, as they were placing the leaves in the dinosaurs mouth mimicking eating. The children enjoyed the dinosaur song stamping them in the tray developing their listening skills.

Physical Development

The children have explored rice using wooden objects to fill and pour. The children have showed good control in scooping the rice up with the spoon and placed it into the bowl, demonstrating their happiness with their accomplishment. The children demonstrated good use of their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. The children experimented with placing their hands in the rice feeling the texture and letting it sprinkle between their fingers.

The children explored chalk, water and paint brushes on the tuff tray, as they created some lovely marks. The children were holding the brushes using their whole hand grasp and moving it around the tray creating different strokes. The children showed good hand eye coordination, as they were able to place the brushes into the pot of water to get some more water.
